Why we built a site specifically for Quebec
A launch note on why this isn't a translated page bolted onto a pan-Canadian site, and what that actually changes for the reader.
The gap we kept running into
Most coverage of Canadian online casinos writes for Ontario first — reasonably enough, since it's the only province with a fully modern regulated market — and then translates or lightly adapts the leftovers for everyone else. Quebec ends up treated as a rounding error in that approach, even though it has a genuinely distinct legal situation: a provincial monopoly in Espacejeux, a tolerated offshore market following a real 2018 Superior Court ruling, and a regulator — the Kahnawake Gaming Commission — with real local roots rather than a distant offshore address.

Built in French as a first-class language, not an afterthought
The French version of this site isn't a translation layer running behind the English one — it's written independently, with its own editorial voice, and the same depth on every page. Given Quebec's francophone majority, treating French as secondary would have defeated the entire point of building this site in the first place.
What doesn't change

The trade-off a narrowly focused site accepts
A Quebec-only site inevitably means less raw page volume than a pan-Canadian competitor covering every province at once — that's a real cost, not a hidden one. What it buys back is depth on the things that are actually different here: Espacejeux's monopoly structure, Kahnawake's specific local regulatory presence, and a French version built as its own independent editorial product rather than a translation pass. Narrower scope and genuine depth are the same trade in both directions, and we'd rather make that trade explicitly than pretend a wider site with the same page count per topic is somehow also the deeper one.
